Luwian Studies goes on tour. On October 5, 2019, at ZAI Bodrum, Dr. Eberhard Zangger will lecture for one-hour on the Bronze Age cultures in western Asia Minor, which are still largely unexplored. His hosts are the industrialists Yunus and Derya Büyükkuşoğlu. In an ancient olive grove, they have built a cultural center with café, restaurant, library, gallery and auditorium, which is a popular meeting place for those interested in culture. The lecture will be held in English and simultaneously translated into Turkish. Those who want to delve further into the subject can then purchase a Turkish copy of the book “The Luwian Culture”.
On October 11, 2019, Zangger will speak to the Friends of the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave in Leiden about “The Sun, the Moon and the Gods in Bronze Age Asia Minor”. The day before the museum will open its new exhibition entitled “Cosmos: Art and Science”, which was conceived by the Dutch astronomer Prof. Dr. med. Ewine van Dishoeck.
Finally, Eberhard Zangger will speak on March 7, 2020 in the Getty Villa in Los Angeles on the most recent discoveries in the archeoastronomy of Bronze Age Asia Minor.
