Höyük Köyönü Mevkii

The tell settlement is located 500 m west of the village of Uzunpınar in the district of Şuhut in the province of Afyonkarahisar. No excavations have been carried out so far. There are two wells on the eastern and southeastern sides of the settlement; a fortress is 300 m east of the site. Iron Age and Roman pottery has been found there, as well as sarcophagi from the Roman period. Another fortress lies 200 m east of the village. Iron Age, Hellenistic, Roman and Medieval pottery has been found there. The site was built in a valley on a route connecting the north and south of inner western Anatolia.
