The site of Müsgebi-Ortakent is located 9 km northwest of Bodrum. In the 1960s a number of Mycenaean chamber tombs were found in this region. Vessel types include cylix, pyxis, amphora, pithoi, jugs, bowls, cups, alabastroi and tripod vessels among others. According to Yusuf Boysal the necropolis began to be used during the 15th century BCE. The pottery dates from Late Helladic III A to Late Helladic IIIC.
