The ancient settlement is located near the village of Kınık in the district town of Kaş in Antalya. The city has been excavated for many years by an archaeological team from France. Although according to the excavations the earliest remains of the city date back to the 8th century B.C., the name of the city is also mentioned in the inscription of Yalburt in the 13th century B.C. among the cities of the Lukka lands conquered by Tudhaliya IV.
