Midaion (Kara Höyük)

The tell settlement is located 30 km east of Eskişehir province, 1 km southeast of Karahöyük village. It is one of the largest tell settlements in the Eskişehir region, measuring 500 x 500 m in width and about 20 m in height. According to Hans von Aulock, the settlement was called Midaion after the Phrygian king Midas. No systematic excavations have been carried out. An emergency excavation was carried out in the Roman city by the Eskişehir Museum.
