Sestos

The ancient city is located on the northern shore of the Dardanelles and overbuilt by a Byzantine/Ottoman fortification whose ruins are still preserved. Surface finds date back to the 2 nd mill. BCE. Since the Archaic up until Roman times, Sestos was an important city.
