The settlement is located about 9 km southeast of Pergamon in the district of Kınık at İzmir. Jürgen Dreihaus locates Gümüşova Tepe I in the valley of Gümüşova Deresi and Gümüşova Tepe II 1.2 km northeast of it. The prehistoric ceramics range from the Early Bronze Age until the Late Bronze Age, but also includes Roman. Gümüşova Tepe I lies on a bedrock knoll and rises about 10 m above the ground.
