The settlement is located 5 km north of the district town of Ezine, right next to the highway between Çanakkale and Ezine. The place is interpreted to have been a fortress to protect the route between southern and northern valley of the Kara Menderes in antiquity. Late Bronze Age, late Classical and Hellenistic pottery has been found there.
