Saplı Adası
The island Saplı Adası lies in the Bay of Akbuk c. 270 meters off the coast with which it is connected through a causeway. The island is about 250 x 500 m and 8 m tall. So far no excavations have been made. According to Walter Voigtlander the island was first settled in the Neolithic period. Intense habitation began after the 7 th cent. BCE. This conceils earlier habitation. However, Late Bronze Age pottery has been found.
