Stratonikeia
The ancient city is located in Muğla province, 7 km west of the district town of Yatağan. The spring of the ancient Marsyas River (Çine Çayı) is located near the ancient city. Excavations were carried out by Yusuf Boysal in the 1980s and 1990s. Further excavations were carried out by M. Çetin Şahin between 2003 and 2008. Since 2008, excavations have continued under the direction of Prof. Dr. Bilal Sögüt.
